Lesson 1 : the alphabet

Welcome to the first lesson of Learn Lebanese Arabic.First I'm gonna start with the alphabet,the Lebanese dialect uses sounds from MSA(modern standard Arabic) and on this blog I'm gonna teach you how to write Lebanese Arabic with roman letters for two reasons :
1.Because everyone uses this internet Arabic language nowadays and no one writes Lebanese in Arabic letters
2.Because Arabic letters are so hard to learn and combine plus they have many indicators to show how a certain word is pronounced (like the harakat that give every letter the sounds: A/O/E which can be just written in roman much easier)
OK we begin :
The Romanized script was created for online use instead of the Arabic alphabet so all the letters are the same :
A --->A in car, far, bar and star
B---->B in bed
S---->S in Sam
D---->D in door
E---->EE in Tree
É----> i use this as the french é,it sounds like EH and it is usually used in the end of manyyyyy Lebanese words and family names!
F----> F in food, frog or fast
G----> (G in glass-for English/French words used in Lebanese)  like guitar,garage,gallon
H----> H in home
J----->hmm this is hard to explain..its like the J in jolly but without the soft D before it..like G in Beige without your tongue touching your jaw........so ya G in Beige
k----> K in book
L----> L in land
M---->M in man
N---->N in name
O---->O in open
P----->(P in Peter- for English/French words used in Lebanese)
R---->R in orange
S----> S in Sam
T---->T in toy
U---->oo in cool, fool, moon and soon...so u can write it as OO too :P
V---->V,NOT  pronounced in Lebanese words (V in Victory- for English/French words used in Lebanese)
W---->W in word

Y---->Y in yellow
Z----> Z in Zebra
OK these letters are exactly the same in English and the roman form,some other custom letters denoted by numbers have been added :
2----> check voice 2.wma
3---->like the french R 3.wma
5----> J in Spanish, ch in German 5.wma
7---->check voice 7.wma
8---> check voice 8.wma
6---->check voice6.wma
9---->check voice 9.wma
in Addition the letter Z can sometimes be hard/deep this can be noticed through hearing (although this letter does exist in formal MSA arabic it is not denoted by any custom letter online mostly because it is much softer in Lebanese Arabic)
I would like to say that I'm ready for any person who wants to learn Lebanese on msn or any other way if he/she is really motivated.
